Ultra violet System

General Description

Application:

The VIANEN V-UV-C system can be used in the Vianen Basic, Compensator, GV-Induction, Jet Stream and Vianergy canopies when kitchen use and grease output of the cooking equipment is extremely heavy. Together with the V-UV-C system the Vianen Fecon-UV filters are used and the system can also be combined with the Make Up Air system (MUAP). The V-UV-C system reduces the grease and odour emission to the surrounding area and excludes deposits of grease in the ductwork. The V-UV-C system is controlled by the V-UV-C Control Unit which makes it a safe and easy to use system that requires very little maintenance and service.

Fabrication:

The VIANEN UV-C system uses special UV-C light tubes placed in a stainless steel type 304 patented box with a hinged stainless steel door, designed so that it’s impossible to ever look into the lamps. The UV-C-light box is installed behind the FECON-UV grease filters in the canopy. Exposure to intensive UV-C light and ozone oxidation destroys contaminants in the air  resulting in the reduction of odour emissions to the surroundings and excludes deposits of grease in the ductwork. The Stainless steel Control Unit controls the V-UV-C system and is fabricated with a sloping top, hinged door with a display and can only be opened with a special key.

Advantages of the VIANEN V-UV-C system:
- three safety systems;
- extensive testing and reliable components – CE certified;
- compact installation;
- cost effective alternative to carbon filters;
- low maintenance costs.

Technical Details

Description:

The VIANEN UV-C system uses special UV-C light tubes for odour and grease reduction. The tubes are placed in a stainless steel patented box with a hinged s/s door, designed so that it’s impossible to ever look into the lamps. The UV-C-light box is installed in the canopy behind the FECON-UV grease filters, which are designed so that no UV-C light is visible. Exposure to intensive UV-C light and ozone oxidation destroys contaminants in the air  resulting in the reduction of odour emissions to the surroundings and excludes deposits of grease in the ductwork. The maximum air temperature passing over the modules is 45°C and for complete oxidation a minimum reaction time of 2 seconds is required between duct connection to UV-C-module and air discharge point. The pressure drop of the V-UV-C system is 60 Pa. Only little maintenance and service is required, the system-integrated light tubes should be cleaned with white spirit once every week after 8000 operating hours the light tubes should be replaced.

Fabrication:

The VIANEN UV-C system uses special UV-C light tubes placed in a stainless steel type 304 patented box with a hinged stainless steel door, designed so that it’s impossible to ever look into the lamps. The size and number of V-UV-C modules is determined by the size of the canopy and extract air flow rate (m³/s) required. The electrical supply for the V-UV-C unit is 230 Volt – 1 phase – 0,96 Amp at a module of 6 pieces V-UV-C tubes.

The system is fitted with three safety systems:
- A detector that has been placed under the filter that has been marked with an arrow makes it impossible for the Control Unit to operate if this filter is not in position.

- Should this filter be removed the Control Unit will automatically shut down the system.  With the removal of any one filter the pressure differentiator will also automatically shut down the system.

- The Control Unit can only be activated when the extraction fan is switched on.  Should the fan turn off the Control Unit will automatically shut down the UV-C unit.

The Stainless steel IP67 Control Unit (dim. 300 x 400 x 155 mm) with a sloping top, the hinged door with display can only be opened with a special key.

Warning
- Only qualified personal is allowed to work on the V-UV-C system.
- Direct and indirect eye contact with the V-UV-C tubes can cause damage to vision. The V-UV-C system is designed with mechanical and electrical safeguards to prevent this.
- Installation of the UV-C-ozone system can cause damage to seals and anti-vibration mounts in existing systems.
